My attraction to white clothing began as far back as grade school in the form of white shirts. Nothing felt more fresh and current to me than a brand new white top. It could go with any of my skirts, jeans, pants - anything I already had in my very small closet. With the combination of my Catholic school uniform regime for 12 years and parents who did not prioritize purchasing a fresh wardrobe each new season for their daughter, I was forced to recognize at a young age clothing that could work in multiple looks and last more than one season. It wasn't until I had my first job in the fifth grade that I had any control over what I could put in my own closet and even then, it was limited.
